After a long, stressful night with both Leia and Ali, trying to figure out Ali's way of thinking from the conversation they had  when he ran into her out in the hall, Phillip was standing in the doorway of the bedroom the next morning, watching his wife finally resting. He sighs softly, finding himself thinking and wondering when her mother was going to show up, hating seeing his beloved wife suffering

Guest_Aliyah the next morning, Ali was packing for the trip back to Agrabah, having chickened out the night before in telling Dastan that they were going back to Agrabah today..As she packs, she tries not to think about the conversation she had with Phillip in the hallway and the look of disappoint on his face when she told him...
Guest_Dastan comes in after doing a shift of watching Leia so that Phillip could get some rest...he stops...seeing his wife packing..."Ali?"
Guest_Aliyah stops what she is doing when she hears him and turns to look at him

Guest_Aliyah : no i dont think so. just thought going home for a bit would be a nice change of scenery

Guest_Aliyah goes over to the closet to get more of her clothes, blinking back tears
Guest_Dastan : So that's it...you are leaving?
Guest_Aliyah : why shouldnt I? we all know who they all are blaming for this, even though they know differently...and why cant I get the chance to turn to my parents for guidence, while everyone else here has a parent and a sibling here, or less than a days ride?!
Guest_Dastan : Your parents are here
Guest_Aliyah comes out of the closet empty handed and goes to sit on the bed, pulling her legs up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them " yes but they are leaving today because I asked if we could...if they do leave and I dont go, I dont know when I'll see them again..."
Guest_Dastan : So...they are leaving because you want to go home...
Guest_Aliyah nods
Guest_Dastan : but you are using them as your excuse to go back to Agrabah
Guest_Aliyah stares at him "no Im not" she whispers, knowing he is right
Guest_Dastan : So...let me get this straight...You have had one hell of a scare...granted...but your solution is to run back home and forget any of this happened...?
Guest_Dastan : But when Leia and I were first brought here...scared to death...we werent allowed to go back home to our parents...back to what we knew...
Guest_Aliyah : dont blame that on me, I had nothing to do with that!
Guest_Dastan : Come on Ali...You were being kept in the loop of what was going on...It was you and Phillip chasing Leia when she did manage to escape...
Guest_Dastan : All that girl wanted was her mother...after she was being accused of atrocities that she wasnt even born to commit...
Guest_Aliyah yeah your right, heaven forbid anyone else want their mother." she snaps, getting up "but fine, they couldve handled this all differently and for that I am truly sorry."
Guest_Aliyah gets up and goes over to the desk, writing a quick message, folding the paper up and goes over to where Nasir was dozing, gently waking the monkey up, telling him to take the note to her parents and the monkey leaves the suite. She goes back over to the bag she had packed and starts unpacking
Guest_Dastan : No one likes being on the receiving end of a crime they didnt commit...Maleficent was wrong to come after you...I get that...but she is also a mother trying to protect her child from a learned danger response...to Maleficent...most humans resent her for her crimes...something she has dealt with for over 50 years...
Guest_Dastan : That sort of learned response doesnt disappear overnight...it takes time to heal...
Guest_Aliyah continues to quietly unpack

Guest_Dastan sighs...He walks over to her...gently pulling her away from the bag...sitting her on the bed and squatting down in front of her..."What happened was an accident...I know you are scared that you let your family and Agrabah down...but you havent...we dont know what the future holds...all we can do is have faith that we are going to get that happy ending we have dreamed of."
Guest_Aliyah : its not just that, Dastan....what if by some miracle we do have a child and he or she gets sick and dies? then what? my grandfather's line still ends with me"
Guest_Dastan : That fear...didnt stop your grandparents from having your mother...and didnt stop your mother and father from having you...
Guest_Dastan : Every life is precious...Leia is an only child too...that didnt stop Maleficent from having her...
Guest_Dastan : Leia dies...or doesnt wake up from this curse...there goes Maleficent's line...
Guest_Aliyah : difference is if she really wanted too, Maleficent could have another child...
Guest_Dastan : Actually...no...She is mortal now...she lost her immortality when she lost her dragon form...she nearly died having Leia...
Guest_Dastan : and you dont know for sure if your family curse will affect you...
Guest_Aliyah looks at him surprised that he knew about the curse, since she only found out about it the night before

Guest_Dastan : Jasmine grew up loved...no magic...she found the love of her life in...of all places...the market of Agrabah...creating their own epic love story...which turned them into legendary heroes...they also got a daughter who is smart...sweet...kind...loving...and going to be a wonderful ruler one day...
Guest_Aliyah offers a small smile "I guess I did let my fear get in the way..."
Guest_Dastan : considering your family's trend...I am not worried...If we have one child...we will love that child...give him or her the best we can...for as long as we can...
Guest_Aliyah thank you..." and lets out a quiet laugh
Guest_Dastan : Even if we dont have a child of our own...We are going to have neices and nephews through Phillip and Leia...through Alexandra and her future love...through Emma and her future love...and whose to say we wont do what your great grandfather did and adopt a orphan from Agrabah...
Guest_Dastan : our family will be what we make it...

A while later...when Dastan goes to work with Yensid on some of his potion work...Ali goes for another walk...in a remote part of the garden...she comes up on the Red Queen...sitting on a bench...staring at the necklace around her neck...a sad...remorseful...look on her face...

Guest_Cyrus and his guards escorts the two back to the castle...with some reluctance...Ali and Ana are escorted to a private quarters...
Guest_Anastasia from their balcony...Ana stares out at a dark patch of land...with a sinister looking castle sitting in it...

I agree...but that still doesnt answer the question why the princess is here helping her with this rescue mission...and I know you feel connected to the princess because she is like you or claims to be...
