For Millennia, Genies have lived peaceful among the mortal population by keeping to themselves and not interfering in human matters. That all changed one day when an unknown human caught a genie using his powers.After careful planning, the human was able to capture the genie in a bottle and shared this knowledge. With the knowledge on how to capture a genie spreading,the three most powerful of the Djinn’s moved their people to a hidden land and it was after the move that they divided the genies into three clans, The Shantian, Favian, and Leianian, each with their own purpose. After the division, it was made well known that the Shantian clan would become the genies version of a royal family.

The Shantian clan has been the ruling family of the genies ever since they removed themselves from the world of the mortals after it was discovered on how to capture their kind in bottles and lamps. The Blue Djinn has ruled with for years with honor and fairness and he was blessed with three beautiful daughters and one son, Zarif, who sadly had ventured out into the mortal world and was captured in a lamp.

The oldest two daughters married into the other two clans,keeping the genie blood line pure 

The youngest of the three sisters, Aliyah, went against her father’s wishes and ventured back into the human world, and found a life in Agrabah.  She managed to charm her way into the palace and there was where she met her first human husband. That marriage only lasted a couple of years before the young prince died of unnatural causes. With the death of the prince, the now widowed Princess was worried that she was the cause of his death due to her powers as a Genie, which of course was not the case. A few years went by and soon Aliyah became the focus of the Royal Vizer, Jafar, and her father-in-law was considering marrying her off to him until a young prince from a neighboring kingdom arrived. From the moment Aliyah and Hudad set eyes on each other, it was love at first sight and she agreed to marry him. Her marriage to the then Prince Hudad caught the attention of her father and he paid her a visit. It was during this visit that the Djinn gave his daughter an ultimatium, go back with him or give up her powers as a genie. She chose to give up her genie magic, not knowing that her blood still carried the magic of the genie.

Aliyah married her prince and not long after their wedding,the Sultan died;  she and Hudad became the queen and Sultan of Agrabah. Their union only produced one daughter,Princess Jasmine. Sadly when Jasmine was only 4 years old, Aliyah died from a snake bite, which even to this day, her murderer has never been found
